Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
